Internship – Administrative Assistant to the Director

 

Indie Montreal is looking for an intern assistant to the Director! Applicants must be highly motivated, organizes and enthusiastic, with an interest and professional experience in the live music industry. The intern will be immersed in various aspects of the artist development business for an established Canadian music company. Because Indie Montreal is a small business, the coordinator will complete valued tasks on the company’s front lines. The intern will work on daily duties, medium-term and long-term projects, supervised directly by the Director of Indie Montreal. The intern will also be required on-site for events.

Dates: The internship renews year-round

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Salary: Unpaid Internship

Languages: English & French, fluent spoken and written

Location: Work to be done remotely and at the Indie Montreal office, with ongoing guidance and feedback. To meet with supervisor during weekly staff meetings

Assets – Skills, Training & Interests:

·       Very good organizational skills, meticulous and conscientious

·       An understanding of the music industry and it’s elements

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

·       Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and graphic design

·       Knowledge of Google Docs and Google Calendar

·       Knowledge of and comfort with Facebook, Twitter and other Social Media Websites

·       Keen attention to detail

·       Available consistently over regular hours and constantly available by email / phone (must have a cell phone)

·       Music-related professional experience an asset

·       A general interest in music, arts & culture      

Tasks:

·       Act as the assistant for the Founding Director of Indie Montreal

·       Work with the Director to complete various tasks touching on multiple areas / departments

·       Filing and organizing documents, receipts, handling IMTL accounting and contracts

·       Helping to update IMTL’s website

·       Helping to update IMTL’s social media accounts

·       Working to manage IMTL’s ticketing system and our ticketing department clients

·       Working to research and acquire new clients for IMTL (specifically for the ticketing department)

·       Organizing promotional materials and documents shares between the IMTL team for shared use

·       Ensuring that the IMTL team has all of the promotional and logistical materials required to complete their tasks

·       Ensuring that the office is well stocked

·       Involvement on-site at events helping the production assistant

Academic Credit:
Indie Montreal will work with any educational institution to ensure that the intern receives any due academic credit for their work and experience.
