INTERNSHIP - PRODUCTION AND BOOKING ASSISTANT

Indie Montréal (IMTL) is looking for a booking and production assistant intern.

Indie Montréal is an artist development company in Quebec, in existence since 2007. It supports artists through 3 divisions: IMTL Agence, IMTL Promotion and IMTL Accompagnement. Indie Montréal places the artist at the heart of the decision-making process, supporting him or her as needed.

We're a small, passionate team, and this position will be a collaborative effort, overseen by a seasoned event production team.

Dates: July to December 2023 (flexible)

Hours: Part-time or full-time internship

Salary: To be discussed

Languages: written and spoken French; English an asset

Responsibilities:

>> Booking (70%)

  • Draft and monitor company contracts;

  • Write tour itineraries for booking artists;

  • Assist with logistics (hotels, artist reception, backline, flights, transport, equipment rental, etc.), with the help of the IMTL Booking Manager;

  • Update each artist's file (press photos, biography, technical and hospitality specifications, etc.).

  • Assist with billing follow-up, with the help of the person in charge of accounting;

  • Update the website, the IMTL Agency page and manage the calendar;

  • Prepare monthly newsletter ;

  • Update show offers and calls for artists' showcases.

>> Production (30%)

  • Help coordinate and produce certain events on site (booking artist album launches, special series, etc.);

  • Collect, manage and organize promotional materials for shared use by the Indie Montréal team;

  • Communicate with artists and their managers regarding concert logistics and technical specifications;

  • Communicate with venues regarding technical, logistical and promotional details;

  • Help manage the chain of communication between IMTL, our artists and venues by distributing production schedules to the appropriate parties;

  • Preparation of documents and elements required for productions ;

  • Manage the needs and questions of artists on the ground during events;

  • Create events in the IMTL ticketing system.

Profile required:

  • Completed or ongoing training and/or professional experience in administration, management;

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Teams, an asset ;

  • Autonomous, rigorous, detail-oriented and organized;

  • Welcoming, friendly and sociable person;

  • A special interest in music, arts and culture;

  • Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.
