Indie Montreal is proud to present, in collaboration with Osheaga and the MEG Montreal Festival, the Official Industry Pass Panel 2016 at the Phi Centre on July 28, 2016 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

This year's conference will address a hot topic in the music industry at the heart of many debates: "New frontiers in the live music experience: exploring cutting edge innovation in festivals and live events". The panel discussion will happen in English and will be moderated by Radio Canada's Philippe Fehmiu. It will feature panelists, Luci Tremblay - director of communications at Festival d'été de Québec, Daniel Jean - producer at Moment Factory, Callender De'mont - Booking agent at AM Only and Bob White - professor of anthropology at the Université de Montréal.

Luci Tremblay - Director of communications at Festival d'été de Québec

Luci Tremblay sports over 30 years of experience in communications and journalism and has been the Communications Director at the Festival d’été de Québec (Québec Summer Festival ) since 2009.

She previously worked as Communications Director for Québec City’s 400th Anniversary Society in 2008, Palais Montcalm in 2007 and was the Director of Public Affairs at Québec International from 2005 to 2007. From 2000 to 2005, she worked for the Mayor of Québec City, Mr. Jean-Paul L’Allier, as Assistant Cabinet Director and Commissioner of International Relations.

Luci Tremblay worked as a television journalist at Radio-Canada for 15 years in Montréal, Toronto and Québec City.  


Daniel Jean - Producer at Moment Factory

As Producer at Moment Factory, Daniel Jean works with clients to define the project’s strategy, bringing his unique creativity and analytical approach to ensure each project lands beyond expectations. After studying Sound, Light, Audio-visual Production and project management at a Montreal’s Show Business School, Daniel honed his skills in the field, steering the creation of unforgettable experiences across a wide range of public events and entertainment platforms.

In 2003, he joined Moment Factory as a Project Manager, becoming a Producer in 2011. Daniel has led many of Moment Factory’s most memorable projects, including recent large-scale live shows such as the New York Summer Spectacular featuring Radio City’s legendary Rockettes, the Muse world tour, and Phish’s famed New Year’s Eve concert at Madison Square Gardens.

Callender De'mont - Booking agent at AM Only

Callender has six years of experience in the live music industry. After working in production for MTV, he joined AM Only in 2009. His roster of clients includes RL Grime, Baauer, What So Not, Unkle, Just Blaze, Araabmuzik, Lunice, D.R.A.M. and Rustie. He's been featured in Billboard Magazine, Rolling Stone, The 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert.

Bob White - Professor of anthropology at the Université de Montréal

Bob White is a professor of anthropology at the University of Montreal and director of the Intercultural Relations Research Laboratory (LABRRI). Since 2012 he heads the multi-sectoral research partnership "Towards an intercultural city" (SSHRC 2012-2015) which aims to document intercultural dynamics in the urban space. He has published works on popular music, globalization, cultural policies, collaborative research methods, intercultural policies and living together in a multiethnic context. He is a member of CERIUM (International Studies and Research Centre) and CELAT (Interuniversity Centre for Studies in the humanities, arts and traditions). His first book Rumba Rules: The Politics of Dance Music in Mobutu's Zaire (Duke, 2008) - received several awards (including the Anthony Leeds Prize in urban anthropology and Joel Gregory Award in African Studies). His latest book (with Lomomba Emongo) is entitled L’interculturel au Québec : rencontres historiques et enjeux politiques (University Press of Montreal, 2014). He is currently working on a series of publications with the Council of Europe relating to the concept of intercultural cities and a monograph of theories of intercultural encounters.
