FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) I’d like to know more about your services – who do I contact and how?

If you already know which service you’re interested in, you can contact us directly at the relevant address and someone from our team will gladly get back to you as soon as possible.

If you don’t know which service you’d like to contact or you have a general question, please write  info@indiemontreal.ca.

We strongly encourage you to include the name of your project and a streaming link (audio or video) as well as your reason for contacting us. Please don’t send audio files as attachments – we prefer streaming links.

2) How long will I have to wait before receiving a response?

We receive a lot of emails and are a small team. We do our best to respond as quickly as possible, but it’s hard to commit to a delay. We tend to prioritize requests that are clear and specific.

3) How can I join your IMTL Agency booking and management artist roster?

We’re very selective with the projects IMTL Agency takes on for booking and management. If your project is relatively new, we suggest that you start by reach out to our IMTL Label Services and IMTL Promotion departments.

4) I want to open for an artist on your IMTL Agency roster. Who should I contact?

We encourage you to submit your project! You can send an email to agence@indiemontreal.ca with the subject line “Opening act”. It’s important to note that the headliner will often have the right of approval over any support acts.

5) I’m looking for a label – can you help me?

We’re not a label. But we offer a number of services that a label would offer, only we offer them à la carte - for example, promotion and grant-writing services. If this interests you, we suggest you contact us at the relevant email address.

6) Can you cover our show?

We’re an artist development company and not a media outlet or blog. We don’t publish articles on our website. We do, however, offer press relations and web marketing services. So, feel free to contact us if you’re looking for someone to help you promote your project to cultural media.

7) I have to do an internship for my course and I'm interested in doing it at Indie Montréal. Do you hire interns?

Yes, we're always open to hiring new interns, and we encourage you to send us your CV and cover letter. Please note, however, that our internships last from 4 to 6 months (sometimes even longer). We can rarely accommodate an observation internship lasting only 2 or 3 weeks. We receive many requests for internships and tend to hire people who already have experience in the music industry and/or in the sector in which they are applying (e.g. communications, production, marketing, etc.). If you're just starting out in the music industry and would like to pursue a budding interest, we recommend that you join our street team by writing to streetteam@indiemontreal.ca.
