INTERNSHIP - MUSIC PROMOTION ASSISTANT

Indie Montréal (IMTL) is looking for a music promotion assistant intern.
Indie Montréal is an à-la-carte services company serving businesses, nonprofit organizations, and artists, based in Quebec and established since 2007.
We're a small, passionate team, and this position will be a collaborative effort, overseen by a team experienced in promotion.
Dates: February 25, 2026 to August 25, 2026 (Spring/Summer session) and mid-August 2026 to February 2027 (Fall/Winter session)
Hours: Part-time internship
Salary: To be discussed
Languages: written and spoken French; English an asset
Responsibilities:
Update articles on a music news site (franconnexion.info)
Write press releases and all communications related to media campaigns (pitch texts, bios, etc.)
Create press reviews at the end of each media campaign
Coordinate promotional campaigns with the help of the General Director (gather materials, coordinate contests, etc.)
Update mailing lists/media databases
Support artists and coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and launches
Develop the company’s digital promotion strategy with the help of digital marketing strategists
Write digital promotion audits and reports with the help of digital marketing strategists
Create basic visuals using Canva (posters, banners, etc.)
Profile required:
Ongoing training and/or professional experience in communications;
Good knowledge of Quebec media networks, an asset;
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Teams, an asset;
Good knowledge of the Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) or Canva, an asset;
Good command of social networks and web promotion/marketing platforms;
Autonomous, creative and organized;
A special interest in music, arts and culture;
Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.
